Tong Pak Fu @ KLCC

Revisit & Updated.....

It was an after-work-thing between me and my team mates. We usually head over to one of our favorite dessert place in KLCC for some down time and intimate goss-session.

Tong Pak Fu

This place one of KLCC's newest addition of dessert hot spots. Hailing from Hong Kong, Tong Pak Fu is famous for its snow ice series.

The branch in KLCC is located right next to O'briens and Candylicious.

D24 Durian Snow Ice. Rm9.80 (R) Rm12.80 (L).
Traka Snow Ice. Rm11.80 (R) Rm14.80 (L).

Smooth, creamy and rich is how I describe these two durian snow ice. Unlike a lot of shaved ice desserts that uses artificial flavoring, Tong Pak Fu uses actual durian pulp. Hence, this is as close as you can get to eating durian without its seed.

The only main difference taste between these 2 version of snow ice dessert is that Tracka has a slightly stronger flavor and aftertaste compared to D24. Texture and outlook wise, it's about the same. Definitely my favorites and highly recommended.

Apple Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream. Rm11.80.

There is a slight twist in this dessert I figured. Instead of the conventional apple crumble, the TPF version came with layers of caramelised apple slices at the bottom, topped with generous amounts of biscuit crumbles. The biscuits were light and crispy but I reckon one more scoop of vanilla ice cream would make this treat a more delightful one. I would recommend.

Grass Jelly with Mango Topping and Milk Snow Ice. Rm7.80.

The milk snow ice was light and refreshing and the pearls had a marshmellow aftertaste to it, was a pretty alright choice.

Chilled Mango Sago Creme with Pomelo. Rm8.80.

Touted as one of the more popular desserts in TPF, I found this dessert slightly overdensed in milk. It was thick and consistent no doubt, but was just too milky for a non-milk drinker like me. Overall though, it was quite good.

Double boiled snow pear with snow fungus. Rm8.80.

There was generous amount of snow fungus and snow pear in this dessert and is definitely one of the healthier alternative in this restaurant. Though I also find this a bit too sweet for my liking.

Creme Brulee. Rm7.80.

This was a bit of a dissapointment. The top was not lightly burnt like how a traditional creme brulee should be and it was really sweet. It tasted more like vanilla custard pudding rather than creme brulee. I will not have this again.

Mango and Milk Snow Ice. Rm8.80 (R) Rm11.80 (L).

Equally as refreshing is the Mango Snow Ice. Slightly on the lighter side, this dessert reminds me a bit of KTZ's mango loh but with way smoother shaved ice.

Chocolate Snow Ice. Rm7.80 (R) Rm9.80 (L).

Frankly speaking, this tasted a bit odd. I will not recommend.

Black Sesame Cream. Rm5.80.

Black sesame cream was smooth and had a very thick texture to it. However, it was just a little too sweet for my liking.

Menu is available Here.

Overall Rating: 7/10 for the D24 and Traka. Touted as one the best snow ice dessert places around town, Tong Pak Fu is centered in most major shopping malls. That said, I still favor the mango desserts in Honeymoon, will do a review on it soon.

Tong Pak Fu is located at:
