The Hills @ Kuala Lumpur

1/5/2011

I have always been slightly envious of my peeps who is not in the 8-5 work-hole. They have the luxury to plan their work day and have the lifestyle flexibility that many can only dream of. Though not as easy as that might sound, I'm sure each job has its own perks and I shalt not complain further.

Fresh change of scene, Me and my pals decided head to the much hyped about new place in town, The Hill, located in Damansara Heights. Do a left before the Wisma UOA building and do a 3 o'clock turn at the subsequent roundabout and there, you will see traffic cones lined along the streets, set up by The Hill management to tell you that this is their road and their property, which is inevitably not true at all. The place is just 10 minutes away from where I stay and was rather easy to locate.

The Hill

Those who parked along the traffic cones lined approximately 500m from the main road and housing area, leading up to The Hill, had to pay Rm10 parking fee. It was just ridiculous. I don't think the management will take charge of any break-ins or accidents if anything happens. Fact is, they don't even know which car exactly and as long as they see us parking along the cones, the ticketing guy will collect a Rm10 unavoidable parking charge from you.

So, I would strongly advise everyone to drive their car all the way up to the entrance of The Hill and get the valet service to park it for you to avoid all the walking. The End.

We had to climb 25 odd steps or 2 flight of stairs all the way up to the lounge area. So girls, be careful with the heels.

After 1 flight of stairs, you will be able to spot a Japanese restaurant and further up will be the lounge/bar. The Lounge area was rather small, with a bar located in the middle of the already tight place, we were seated right at the entrance.

The have a pretty unique blend of house drinks available. From Watermelon cocktails and pineapple cocktails to some drink called the Weed killer.

The Hill's Signature Watermelon Slush. Rm49++.

Watermelon slush is The Hill's most popular beverage. It was a combination of liquor (I can't tell what type) and watermelon juice. Albeit the size of half the watermelon, I'm sure the content is only about 1 glass full. Pretty hefty price for 1 glass of watermelon cocktail?

The place was already packed by mid night with most of the tables occupied and I noticed every table had a Watermelon Slush on it. Yes, it was very popular.

With Larry being the only thorn among the roses.

On a separate occasion....

Decided to drop by The Hills after a very unsatisfying session in G Tower.

Watermelon Slush.

Since it was the first time for most of them and for the sake of justifying to oneself that they have in fact been to The Hills, we ordered the Watermelon slush again. This time, it came in a lovely heart shape pattern.

Milo Ais. Rm25++.

We also tried the Milo + Rum combo, which probably has a bit of kahlua in it too. It basically tasted like well, Kahlua or Baileys.

Last but not least, a picture of me and the babe.

Overall Rating: 6/10. I personally think that the drinks are quite overpriced and would only recommend to those who have not been.

The Hill is located at:
10 Lorong Dungun, Bukit Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur
