Ko Hyang Country Delights @ 1 Utama

5/3/2012

KK aka my beloved ex-housemate and soul sister is back! She's still permanently residing in Australia but comes back ocassionally. I'm always ecstatic to see her! You know its practically like family if you stay with each other for too long.

There's a row of tiny restaurants located along the well, New-Old-Wing, which I love. Simple and small coffee shops. I'm a hard core Korean cuisine fan, love everything, from bulgogi to everything-BBQed. It's only fair for me to try out the only Korean restaurant there.

Ko Hyang Country Delights, 1 Utama - With KK.

Tteokbokki (떡볶이) / Korean Spicy Rice Cakes. was really good. Had it twice in the same restaurant and was still one of the best I've had. I've also tried the same dish in The Street Cafe, located in Asian Avenue, Sunway Pyramid. It was good but not as good as the one here.

The rice cakes was starchy and chewy and the spicy-ness was not too overwhelming. I can't eat super spicy food and this was just nice.

Korean Dumpling Soup (만두국) was equally good. Perhaps I was down with a slight flu when I had this, hence, it tasted doubly-delicious. Though many would say all commercialised soup are too MSG-ridden.

One of my Fav's, the refreshing aloe vera drink.

Also, what I like about this place its is side dishes, unlimited refills. Especially the seasoned anchovies. Once I remembered, I wallowed down the season anchovies and needed multiple refills, without touching the other 2 side dishes. In the end, the waiter was kind enough to give me a bigger bowl, only with anchovies, to save him a couple more runs to my table. Awesome like that. (I would tarpau if they would let me)

Overall Rating: 7/10 for the food, price and location. I think it costs about Rm10-15 a-la-carte. Would definitely visit again.

Ko Hyang is located at:
G-02/02A, Ground Floor, 1 Utama Shopping Mall LG116
(There are branches in Sunway Pyramid and The Gardens too)
