Dasarang Korean Restaurant @ Subang Jaya

6/3/2010

It took us awhile to find parking! Located just opposite inti college and upstairs of McDonalds, searching for a parking lot was a hassle. Took us about 20 minutes before we spotted one not far off.

Dasarang Korean Restaurant

The place is not extremely small, eventhough it has only one floor. It can accomodate up to about 10 tables if memory serves me right.

A very weird picture of me waiting for my food. One thing I learn about Korean restaurants is to not wear short skirts. It is that uncomfortable to take off your shoes and climb into the small compartment before succumbing the need to adjust your skirt the whole night underneath the table. Why don't I ever learn from my mistakes?

The Combo meal we ordered came with.... 3 glasses of Watermelon juice

A platter of chicken and A platter of pork which in my opinion wasn't marinated thoroughly. Upon BBQed, the taste just sat on the outer layer of the meat and the insides did not taste as juicy at all.

An assortment of mini dishes that can be refilled only once. The combo we ordered was for a pax of 4-6 but we only got a set of 3-4 condiments.

Ojinguh Bokum - Spicy Stir-Fried Squid - 오징어붂음. Which is basically a spicy dish accompanied by a mixture greens top with squid.  I like this one the most out of all the other dishes.

Bibimbap (비빔밥).  A mixture of rice and vegetables cooked in a claypot. My plate was a passover, thus, no picture of the claypot. The dish was decently good.

Korea Samgyetang (고려삼계탕) of Ginseng chicken soup is actually one of Korea's popular dishes, unfortunately in Malaysia, I don't think this dish is as commercialised then Bibimbap and Bulgogi.
This version of the ginseng soup was not too satisfying. The chicken shreds was a bit too mashed up and the soup tasted a tad artificial.

For dessert, Rice tea and watermelon. I love the rice tea.

Last but not least, a picture of us.

The bill came up to RM183.60 for 6, which breaks down to about Rm30+ per person. Still way cheaper than my Daorae experiene.

Overall Rating: 6.5/10. Pretty  decently priced in my opinion, since the combo meal was actually made for 4 instead of 6. And all dishes came in very small portions too. The pork/chicken platter only had 5-6 slices of meat in it. In other words, 2 platters or meat, 10 slices of meat altogether. We did ordered a couple of extras. Since the combo meal only came with 3 glasses of juice, we had to order another 2 more. And friend ordered 2 bottles of sake/beer which cost rm5 each. That said, we cleared everything up and was satisfied with the portion.

Also downgraded because of the difficulty in finding parking spaces.

Totally unrelated, I was suppose to go to KL for second rounds right after this session. Based on previous experiences of not smelling my best after BBQ, I brought an extra set of clothes along with me to change after.
