Bubba Gump @ The Curve

It was Larry's inagural day of turning a year older and I was cordially invited to his birthday bash at Bubba Gump, The Curve for a delighted spin of shrimp and seafood.

Since I've never been to Bubba Gump though I've heard of it numerous times, my first impression of the name was...Bubba = Bubble; Gump = Gum? Bubble gum? Eat bubble gum wan ah? Lame like that. Another grim-thought came into mind. Bubba Gump sound like a really barbaric name, an American restaurant that serves huge portions of chunky steaks and ribs.

 

The outlook of this restaurant reminded me of the typical American burger joint, located right next to a deserted farm, designated for passing over-the-load truck drivers to have a bite before hauling on to the next state. [OK, lets not get carried away]

The Layout

Appetizers

Classic Ceaser salad. Rm18.90.

A combination of fresh greens topped with fresh grated parmesan and croutons.

Main Course

Shrimpers Heaven. Rm45.90.

A delectable choice of 4 different shrimps cooked in different styles. And a serve of chips and 2 different sauces. Downside is, there is only 4-5 shrimps in each cone. 

Me being Real Lame. Have to Black-White it. Coz its a CLASSIC SHRIMP moment.

BBQ Back Beef Ribs. Rm43.90.

Slow roasted tender beef ribs served with french fries and coleslaw at the side. The ribs was surprisingly tender and good, tears straight out from its bone. Portion was a bit small for a regular though. There is also a larger version which costs Rm62.90.

Rib Eye Steak. Rm58.90.

Leeting is having a 11oz rib eye steak served with a huge onion ring and mashed potatos.

Bubba's After the storm "Bucket of Boat Trash". Rm44.90.

Gosh what a name. A variation of deep fried shrimp, fish, lobster. With a serve of chips, coleslaw and 2 sauces.

Drinks

Drinks ranged from the normal soft drinks to Cocktails and Smoothies. The smoothie that I ordered  was the Blueberry Smoothie. I give it a 4.5/5. Very good. Thick and Creamy. Exactly how smoothies should taste like. Not too sweet but enough to have blueberry flavor in it. Price range from Rm11.90++ for smoothies. Soft drinks are bottomless. 

The Dessert 

The only dessert that me and my mates tried was the Chocolate chip Cookie cake with ice cream topped with whipped cream. The cake has more of a cookie texture rather then the soft ones. Highly recommended.

The most Awesome Crowd there 

Instead of paying individually and going for one appetizer, one main course, one drink and one dessert. We decided to opt for this set option. [I think it was in the menu somewhere]

1 Soft Drink + 2 Appetizers (1 plate of ceaser salad or 4 slices of garlic bread) + 1 Main Course + 1 Dessert. All for the price of Rm55++.

Overall Rating: 7/10 because of the food, environment, location and -0.5 for its price.
