Alexis @ Bangsar

10/7/2011

One fine evening, me and my girl friends decided to go on a spot-to-spot eating spree ie. We are going to drive from one spot to another just for the sake of eating whatever we wanted to at that point in time.

We started off in Nandos 1u and then to Alexis Bangsar and ending in Murni Aman Suria. The 7 hour eating spree was a blast. We got to Alexis at about 11.30pm. Sadly, the popular cake selection of Tiramisu was long gone. We did have a slice of Mix Berries Meringue, one of Alexis's favorites as well as the Chocolate Mousse, which was both equally scrumptious.

Alexis, Bangsar

Being one of the reknown dessert places in Bangsar, Alexis needs no introduction. Famous for its casual chic, glorious cakes, and superb Asian dishes made with the finest ingredient, this restaurant has been around since 1995.

Tiramisu. Rm15.00.

Being one of the crowd favorites is Alexis's signature Timarisu. Topped with generous amount of caramelised mixed nuts, coffee flavored chiffon cake with a thick layer or vanilla cream in between. Also, this is the first time I've eaten Tiramisu complemented with strawberry sauce. I betcha this is a meal in itself. For those who don't favor nuts or coffee, this is not for you.

Chocolate Mousse. Rm15.

The Chocolate Mousse cake is tailored made for Chocolate Lovers. Every die-heart chocolate fan would love this. With 2 spongy layers of chocolate chiffon cake separated by a layer of vanilla cream and thick chocolate mousse. No wonder this one of their acclaimed specialites.

Mix Berries Meringue. Rm15.00.

Next up is the Mix Berries Meringue. Yet again, one of the better meringues I've had, beating the Banoffee Pie I've had in Delicious Cafe. I like this more simply because Meringue-equivalent cakes that I've tasted, there was no overload of cream in this one. Unlike most which has too much cream and only a thin layer of chiffon cake. This was just right but a tinge too sweet. Personally, one of my Favorites, since I love everything-meringue like that.

The Girls

And the thorn among the roses.
The 3 types of cake which I reviewed above are 3 of the best sellers in Alexis. Each slice of cake costs Rm15++.

Overall Rating: 7/10 for the Mix Berry Meringue. Although the cakes were slightly on the pricier side, I would still figured that because of the size of the cake and ingredients used, it was still worth paying Rm15 for a slice. Would definitely pay a visit to this place again just to try out the other cakes made available.
