Ah Cheng Laksa @ The Curve

Updated 2014: Ah Cheng Laksa is now in Avenue K.

Instead of having lunch inside The Curve, me and a few friends decided to explore the hidden-gems (or not) of e@curve.

Ah Cheng Laksa

Located at the lower ground of e@curve, I was quite hesitant to try this place out. With only 2 tables occupied, there was barely a crowd in sight when we walked pass.

My friend who've had lunch there before claims that Ah Cheng is not at all bad and is definitely worth a shot. I gave in.

When I got home, I did some homework on the restaurant and found out that Ah Cheng is as a matter of fact, quite established. Started of as a small family business in Kedah, Ah Cheng has gradually built up a name for itself for the past 10 years.

I, for one, is pretty excited to see what they have to offer.

A la carte start from Rm6.90/dish and there is combo sets are available at a bargain.

Assam Laksa. Rm6.90.

 

Ah Cheng's version of Assam laksa was pretty decent. The soup was thick with bits of  sardines adding onto its flavor. It was mildly spicy and not too sour, just the way I like it.

 Curry Laksa. Rm6.90.

 

Nasi Lemak with Ayam Goreng. +/- Rm6.90. Total cost came up to Rm13.90 only. Overall Rating: 6.5/10 for the food and value for money. Food wise, it was pretty standard. Downgraded because of its limitation in terms of variety, with only 10 dishes available on it's menu, the dishes better be good.
